These weeks start the main shopping season of the year. Black Friday is here, followed by Cyber Monday and Christmas just around the corner.
And if in recent times we were becoming more and more online, this year by far, online purchases will be the main protagonists.
Therefore, although we must always be alert and pay close attention to the web pages in which we buy and the messages we receive, on these dates we must open our eyes and pay more attention to any detail that may make us suspect an attempt to fraud or any kind of deception.

We remind you the key points for safe purchases:
- Always use updated devices with antivirus.
- Access only trusted sites. Don’t follow links from unfamiliar pages or from emails. Use your favorites whenever you can and confirm that the address you are accessing is correct.
- Before entering sensitive data such as passwords or credit card details, always make sure that the website has a valid certificate to encrypt the communication (look for the padlock next to the page address).
- Be wary of incredible offers, mind-blowing gifts, and other claims we receive through email. If it’s too good to be true, it most likely isn’t.
- Don’t open attachments or follow links from emails that you haven’t verified are legitimate. Always check the sender’s address. Is what comes after the @ sign correct? For example, your_buy@amazon_selling.com is not a legitimate email.
- If an email is addressed to you, they will call you by name. If the email is written for “Client”, “User” or “Friend”, it is because they do not know you. Ignore it.
